Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib has issued an executive order (EO) placing the entire Davao del Norte Province under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) effective June 10, 2021 and “will remain in full force unless revoked by the Provincial Government.”

The EO cites the continued increase in Covid-19 cases in the province and surrounding areas like Davao City as the reason for the declaration.

Only gatherings that are “essential in nature” like health and social services and other government essential services or humanitarian activities shall be allowed, provided that all minimum public health protocols and standards must be observed strictly.

Religious gatherings shall be allowed up to 30% of the venue capacity.

Prior to the declaration, Davao del Norte was under the less stringent modified GCQ.

As of June 9, the province has 1,186 active Covid cases  – Rommel F. Lopez
