The entire province of Davao del Norte, with the exception of the Island Garden City of Samal, was placed under Community Quarantine “effective immediately”.
Governor Edwin Jubahib, in consultation with the provincial board members and local government officials of the province, decided to place the province of “lockdown” mode.
Road blocks will be set up after 24 hours.
Because of this vehicles coming from Davao de Oro, Davao City and Bukidnon are not permitted to enter Davao del Norte.
Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon said in a statement that the total lockdown of Tagum City announced earlier in a joint statement with Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will not be implemented anymore. All private and public vehicles from within the province (Panabo, Carmen, Sto. Tomas, BE Dujali, San Isidro, Talaingod, New Corella, Asuncion and Kapalong) may enter and exit Tagum City, the capital of the province.
However, the city will implement a strict screening process in checkpoints set up along the entry and exit points to Tagum City in order to ensure to contain the spread of the virus. (Rommel F. Lopez)
