The total number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines has surpassed the number of fatalities for 4 consecutive days with 29 new recoveries, bringing the total number to 516, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Saturday.

The country has hit the 6000-mark after 209 new positive COVID-19 cases have been announced by DOH, bringing the total number of cases to 6,087. 

COVID-19 deaths, on the other hand, stand at 397 after the DOH confirmed 10 new deaths from the infection. 

Meanwhile, Indonesia stole the top spot from the Philippines for the most number of COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia  at 6,248. The Philippines is trailed by Singapore with 5,992 COVID-19 cases. (RJ Espartinez)
