The number of recoveries in the Philippines from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) surpassed 2,000 after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Tuesday 107 more recoveries, increasing the total to 2,106.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 infections spiked to 11,350 with 264 new positive cases, according to the DOH’s daily bulletin.

25 more patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 751.

From the new cases, 165 patients or 63 percent were from Metro Manila, 74 cases or 28 percent were from Region VII, while the remaining 25 individuals or 9 percent came all throughout the country.

Singapore remains on top in Southeast Asia for the most number of COVID-19 cases at 24,671. Indonesia followed through with 14,749 cases trailed by the Philippines.  (RJ Espartinez)
