The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday reported that the total number of Filipinos abroad infected with coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has risen to 2,223, with 38 new cases.
The virus has claimed 261 lives, while 669 patients have recovered and were discharged. A total of 1,303 cases were undergoing treatment.
The breakdown of Covid-19 cases was as follows: Europe, 668 patients; the Middle East and Africa, 643; the Americas, 529; and Asia Pacific, 393 cases.
The fatality ratio was highest in the Americas at 27 percent, with 142 registered deaths out of the 529 positive cases.
Covid-19 cases were found in 46 host countries and regions, according to the DFA. (Jojo Mangahis)
