Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that he would not spend much for his 2022 re-election campaign even though he would be branded as“kuripot” or stingy for as long as he is not stealing public funds.

“Hindi pa rin tayo gagastos ng malaki. Tandaan- ang gagastos ng malaki sa kampanya, ay malaki rin ang babawiin,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

“Okay lang tawagin akong kuripot, at least hindi magnanakaw,” he said.

Sotto first ran for Pasig City mayor in 2019 and defeated former Mayor Bobby Eusebio, whose family governed the city for almost 30 years.

Sotto shared his stance on election spending as he reminded his supporters to avoid personal attacks against any candidate.

Sotto also added that he will still continue his dedication as a “full-time mayor” even if the campaign period next year starts. Ronald Espartinez
