How close were the surveys and exit polls in predicting the outcome of the 2022 elections?

This will be central question to be discussed in the tenth and concluding webinar of National Forum on Communication and Democracy: Philippine Elections 2022 series, organized by the Philippines Communication Society (PCS) in cooperation with the University of the Philippines’ Internet TV Network, TVUP.

The free webinar, titled “ANYARE? Post-Election Analysis,” will be moderated by veteran broadcast journalist Ces Drilon and will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 12 noon.

Resource persons include Prof. Victor Andres “Dindo” Manhit, founder and managing director of the Stratbase Group and president of the ADR Institute for Strategic and International Studies (ADRi), who specializes in strategic studies and management, legislative research, and public policy analysis; and Dr. Rachel Khan, associate dean of the UP College of Mass Communication (CMC) and project coordinator of the Tsek.PH fact-checking collaboration.

Also invited to speak in the webinar is Ruperto S. Nicdao Jr., chairman of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) and president of Manila Broadcasting Co.

Far Eastern University Institute of Arts and Sciences Dean Dr. Rowena C. Reyes will deliver the opening remarks while PCS President Dr. Elena Pernia, the UP System vice president for public affairs and former UP CMC dean, will give a synthesis of the discussions.
