The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the resumption of overseas voter registration for the 2025 elections would resume on Dec. 9.

Comelec Resolution No. 10833, which was made public on Monday, set the voter registration period from Dec. 9, 2022 to Sept. 30, 2024.

During the period, the Comelec said applications for registration or certification, transfer of registration records, change of name due to marriage or court order or correction of entries in the voter’s registration record, reactivation, and change of address may be filed.

Applications may be filed with any registration post abroad, at designated registration centers outside the post or at the designated registration centers in the country as approved by the Comelec.

All citizens of the Philippines who are abroad or will be abroad during the 30-day voting period, at least 18 years of age on the day of the elections, and not otherwise disqualified by law are allowed to register.

The 2025 midterm elections will be held on May 12, 2025. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
