The City of Manila declared a “health break” for students and teachers in both public and private schools from January 14 to 21, 2022, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said.

Moreno confirmed in a press conference that there would be no classes in all levels in both public and private schools in Manila to manage the anxiety level of the teachers and students due to the uptick of Covid-19 infections.

“The City of Manila declares a health break starting tomorrow January 14 to 21, wala pong pasok whether online or physical classes, all levels para magka-health break naman ang lahat,” he said.

Moreno, who is also running for the highest position in the country, said that hopefully, a one week health break would be enough to let students, teachers, as well as parents recover from Covid-19 infection. Ronald Espartinez
