Bulacan is on lockdown due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) as the province reported one COVID-19 related death and while six are still in confinement.

Patricia Alvaro of the Bulacan provincial health office bared the locations in the province with confirmed COVID-19 cases — two cases in San Jose del Monte City and one each in Baliuag, Malolos, Guiguinto and San Ildefonso.

A patient from San Ildefonso died Wednesday while the five others are still confined in hospitals.

Bulacan has 87 persons under investigation (PUIs) and 71 persons under monitoring (PUMs) due the virus.

Earlier this week, Baliuag Mayor Ferdie Estrella revealed that he has the virus and why he and the nine department heads and five doctors who attended a meeting with him are currently under a 14-day quarantine.

Meanwhile in Valenzuela City, Mayor Rex Gatchalian bared that their city now has their first case of a COVID-19 positive patient.

In his Facebook post, the mayor described the patient as a 34 year old female who has no travel history but has had contact with someone who traveled to Malaysia.

“Currently, the patient has mild flu-like symptoms and is now under strict home quarantine, following the DOH guidelines,” Gatchalian said. (Jojo Mangahis)
