Light it up like dynamite, Armys!

Six months after the release of their fourth studio album “Map of the Soul: 7,” BTS comes back on Aug. 21 with their newest disco-pop single, “Dynamite.”

“Dynamite us a disco-pop single that sings of joy and confidence, bringing a new surge of much-needed ‘energy’ to reinvigorate the global community,” BigHit Entertainment said on its official website.

In an Entertainment Weekly interview back in 2019, RM said that releasing an all-English song was not part of the band’s plans.

However, BTS hits us, yet again, with another first: a song written fully in English.

“As the COVID situation is still going on, we wanted to give something that would provide energy so we decided to release it as a single first,” RM said during a BTS radio segment at JiJinJung’s Radio.

Just an hour after its release, Dynamite already garnered 23,541,892 views on Youtube and is currently trending on Twitter with the hashtag #DynamiteToday.

The premiere performance of Dynamite will take place at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30.

BTS is also set to release their movie “Break the Silence: The Movie” in September and continue their postponed “Map of the World Tour” in October.

The group also announced on Aug. 12 their simultaneous online and offline concert “Map of the Soul ON:E” to be held in South Korea on Oct. 10 and 11. Jayziel Khim Budino
