Korean pop group, BTS, took home two major awards at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). 

The group bagged the “Group of the Year” and the “Best K-Pop” awards during the ceremony at the Barclay Centre in Brooklyn on September 12. 

BTS also took home the “Song of Summer” award with their global hit single “Butter.”

Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were not present to receive the awards in person, but the male group expressed their gratitude via video which was shared on the MTV VMAs Twitter page. 

The nominees for the “Group of the Year” category were Blackpink, CNCO, Foo Fighters, Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5, Silk Sonic, and Twenty One Pilots.

Nominees for “Best K-Pop Video” were Blackpink and Selena Gomez (Ice Cream” (G)I-dle (“DUMDi DUMDi”), Monsta X (“Gambler”), Seventeen (“Ready to Love”), and Twice (“Alcohol-Free”). Ronald Espartinez
