‘Love Yourself: Answer’ concept photo BIGHIT ENTERTAINMENT
BTS reached another record-high achievement as their “Love Yourself: Answer” album spends a full year in Billboard 200 chart, the first Korean act to do so.
In a report by Billboard, America’s main albums chart, “Love Yourself: Answer” re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 165 for its 52nd, non-consecutive week.
This milestone came days after the 2nd anniversary of their “Love Myself” campaign in partnership with Unicef for their #ENDViolence program where the official anthem is the track “Answer: Love Myself.”
“Love Yourself: Answer” is the third album and completes their “Love Yourself” trilogy that peaked at No. 1 at the Billboard 200 along with “Love Yourself: Tear” and “Map of the Soul: Persona,” breaking the record of The Beatles for having three albums at No. 1 in less than a year.
This achievement was not the only one ARMYs, BTS’s ever-loyal fandom, were celebrating as Nov. 9 marked the 1000th day their track “Spring Day” spent on the Daily Top 100 chart on Melon, South Korea’s online music store and streaming platform.
“Spring Day” was released in 2017 on their album “You Never Walk Alone” and has stayed as the longest charting single on the platform.
ARMYs are fond of this track as it was said to be an homage to the Sewol Ferry tragedy victims, although unconfirmed. “Spring Day” also won Song of the Year in the 2017 Melon Music Awards.
As a tradition, the hashtag #SpringDay1000Days topped Twitter worldwide trends as ARMYs celebrated another career milestone, talking about the significance of the song, its symbolism and iconic imagery of its music video and choreography.
Never forget that ‘Spring Day’ is based on Namjoon’s and Suga’s experience.
