BLACKPINK has rewritten history again.

K-pop quartet BLACKPINK’s music video for its comeback single “How You Like That” has set a new YouTube record for most views in 24 hours, after it amassed more than 82 million views in one day.

The three-minute music video smashed the previous record set by BTS with “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey, which collected 74.6 million views a day after release.

The group, composed of Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo and Rosé, also set the record for the fastest K-pop music video to reach 80 million views, doing so in just about 23 hours.

Additionally, the song’s premiere became the biggest in history, as it accrued around 1.65 million viewers during its live premiere on YouTube yesterday at 6 p.m. KST. The previous record was set by BTS with their music video premiere for “ON,” which had 1.54 million viewers.

“How You Like That” is the pre-release single from BLACKPINK’s forthcoming full-length album, the group’s first ever, dropping some time in September. (John Ezekiel Hirro)
