The Philippines on Wednesday received 700,000 AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine doses from the Australian government.

The doses were part of Australia’s pledge of 3.6 million vaccine doses to the Philippines.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said that the AstraZeneca doses would be used during the country’s vaccination drive from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.

The government has declared Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 as “special working days.”

Nov. 30 is the country’s commemoration of Bonifacio Day, a national non-working holiday.

The government aims to inoculate up to 15 million Filipinos during the three-day drive.

To date, the Philippines has received 135,161,900 Covid-19 vaccine doses. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
