Aurora Gov. Gerardo A. Noveras has tested positive for Covid-19.
The governor made the announcement via his official Facebook page, Thursday morning.
Noveras said he had an RT-PCR test on May 30 which came out positive. He added that he already received his Covid-19 vaccine.
He is asking all those who had close contacts with him the past days, especially those experiencing Covid-related symptoms, to immediately contact local authorities.
He, however, stressed that if not for the vaccine, he could have experienced more severe Covid-19 symptoms.
“Kung hindi po ako marahil nabakunahan ay malaki ang posibilidad na mas malala ang epekto sa akin ng Covid-19, kaya sa mga natatakot at hindi pa handang tumanggap ng bakuna sana po ay magbago na ang inyong pananaw at kayo ay magpabakuna na rin,” he said.
He encouraged the public to stay safe and have themselves tested when they experience even minor symptoms.
“Kung kayo ay mayroon ng nararamdamang sintomas ng Covid-19 ay huwag na kayong lumabas ng bahay at makisalamuha sa iba kahit na kapamilya. Kung kayo naman ay kawani ng Pamahalaan ipagbigay alam agad ninyo sa inyong Tanggapan upang kayo ay lumiban muna sa pagpasok.”
As of June 2, Aurora Province has 1,288 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 810 recoveries and 45 deaths. – Rommel F. Lopez
