The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Thursday reported the completion of the distribution of cash aid for low-income individuals and families.

In a meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte aired Thursday morning, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said more than 11.2 million individuals received financial assistance during the strict Metro Manila lockdown.

Año told Duterte that a total of 11,226,946 people in Metro Manila received the “ayuda,” costing the government P11.226 billion

Cash aid in Metro Manila amounted to P1,000 per individual and a maximum of P4,000 per family.

Areas placed under enhanced community quarantine outside Metro Manila have yet to complete the distribution of pandemic-assistance stipends.

Año said Laguna’s distribution was 87.02-percent complete, while Bataan was only at 61.73 percent.

Laguna has over 2.36 million cash aid recipients, while Bataan has 431,054. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
