The Philippine Army has joined the Department of Agriculture’s “Plant, Plant, Plant” urban agriculture program.
Army spokesman Col. Ramon P. Zagala said Army personnel were tasked to grow vegetables inside camp and in places where they live to ensure sustainable and adequate food supply under the enhanced community quarantine.
The Army received vegetable seeds, seedlings, garden soil, compost, poly bags, tray and IEC (information, education and communication) materials, used for the initial planting activity at its headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Last month, the department partnered with the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the launching of the same project in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. (Jojo Mangahis)
