Another congressional staff of Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) raising the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the House of Representatives to 81.

House secretary general Jose Luis Montales said in a statement that Cayetano’s staff last reported for work on September 23.

The first staff of the House Speaker to test positive for Covid-19, reported to work from Sept. 14 to 18.  The unnamed employee was the 80th House employee to test positive for Covid-19

Montales said only 13 remain active cases out of 81 confirmed cases.  Two more confirmed cases have recovered.

Ten congressmen have tested positive for the dreaded disease, the latest being Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas. Two congressmen have died due to the virus namely Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol and Sorsogon Rep. Ditas Ramos.  Rommel F. Lopez
