Typhoon “Tisoy” brought much rain to raise the water level in Angat Dam.

Monitoring by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS)showed an improvement of 5.23 meters from 189.35 meters at 5 p.m. Tuesday to 194.58 meters early Tuesday morning.

This is 14.58 meters above its minimum operating level of 180 meters and 22.42 meters 

Ipo Dam in Norzagaray town has also benefited from “Tisoy” as it has now registered 101.08 meters, which is .06 meters above its spilling level of 101.02 meters.

Bustos dam’s water level is 17.59 meters which is .25 meters above its spilling level of 17.34 meters.

Weather conditions have improved in the province of Bulacan and with no typhoon-related incident reported.

According to Felicisima Mungcal, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management (PDRRM) officer, the 141 evacuees from Barangays Salambao, Pag-asa, and Paliwas in Obando town have now gone back to their respective homes. 

Angat dam supplies 98% of Metro Manila’s water supply and has recently been a concern due to lack of rain. (Jojo Mangahis)
