Kidapawan City – Your craving for tropical fruits will be satisfied in the “Kasadya sa Timpupo” Festival in this city.

Kasadya sa Timpupo, the city’s fruit harvest festival, is held annually as a celebration of the city’s tribal communities and culture and to showcase the bountiful harvest from local fruit growers in the city.  The festival highlight is the four-day “Fruits Eat All You Can” where local fruit growers showcase their bountiful harvest.

Timpupo is the Manobo and Cebuano term for “harvest” or “to pick up”. Kidapawan is one of the main producers of fruits in the country thus earning it the monicker “City of Fruits”. The months of July and August are the harvest months.

For only P50.00, tourists can eat all the tropical fruits they can like rambutan, banana, lanzones, mangosteen, marang, and durian.  These fruits are also for sale at very low prices.

Local officials also expect the festival to draw in investors into the city during the annual harvest season.  The months of July and August are the peak harvest months.
