Months after being banned indefinitely from coaching in the UAAP, Aldin Ayo was tapped to coach the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas team that will represent the Philippines in international FIBA 3×3 basketball tournaments.

“I’m very grateful because for me, this will bring another dimension to my coaching career,” Ayo said.

“Throughout my coaching career, it was the full-length of the court, but this time will be different. I can’t wait to try out new schemes for half-court,” he added.

Ayo will coach Manila Chooks TM, a rebranding of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup champions Zamboanga City Chooks.

In Ayo’s squad are Joshua Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, Troy Rike and Santi Santillan.

Ayo has had success in coaching collegiate teams.

In his first year in the NCAA and the UAAP, coaching Letran and De La Salle University, respectively, Ayo brought his squads to the championship.

His illustrious collegiate coaching tenure reached a bitter end in the University of Santo Tomas as he was handed an indefinite ban by the UAAP for “endangering the health and well-being of the student-athletes under his charge when he conducted the training during a government-declared state of public emergency intended to arrest the Covid-19 outbreak.” John Ezekiel J.
