The Department of Health (DOH) said the additional P888.12 million budget released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will be allocated for the special risk allowances of (SRA) of 97,560 medical workers.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the DOH is expecting the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) from the Budget Department by September 6.
“This will cover 97,560 health care workers for the SRA,” Vergeire said.
The DBM had already released a total of P9.02 billion last June as part of the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or Bayanihan 2. However, some allocations in the budget weren’t utilized and transferred to the Bureau of the Treasury.
The DBM has also distributed some P311.79 million for SRAs of 20,000 medical frontliners.
Vergeired added that regional hospitals are continuously submitting their list of health care workers qualified for the SRAs. Ronald Espartinez
