A joint police and military operation in Zamboanga City netted a “financial conduit” of the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group Sunday night.
Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer Capt. Edwin Duco said Abra Adian Marani also known as Abra Hamjari Marani, 45, was arrested in Barangay Buenavista, Zamboanga City, Sunday night by police and military operatives.
A .45-caliber pistol with seven rounds of live ammunition, a magazine assembly, and a grenade were confiscated from Marani.
Duco said the suspect is utilized by the ASG as the group’s “errand and financial conduit” in Zamboanga City.
The suspect is in the custody of the police while awaiting inquest proceedings. (Rommel F. Lopez)
