Unable to broadcast on free TV after being shuttered by the government, ABS-CBN will air prime-time drama “Ang Probinsyano” and other shows such as the K-drama series “The World of a Married Couple” on cable and satellite television starting June 13.
In a statement, ABS-CBN said the shows will appear on the Kapamilya Channel, which will be available on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, and “most member-cable operators of the Philippine Cable Television Association (PCTA) nationwide.”
“The cable and satellite TV channels that will carry the Kapamilya Channel are owned and operated by other companies and are not covered by the cease and desist order issued by the NTC to ABS-CBN,” it said, referring to the order of the National Telecommunications Commission released on May 5, a day after its franchise expired.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” will have a 10-episode before new episodes are aired, ABS-CBN said. “A Soldiers” Heart” will continue on weeknights while the family drama in “Love Thy Woman” will air on weekdays. The morning show “Magandang Buhay” will resume airing.
There will also be a new season of the weekly “The Voice Teens,” with “superstar coaches” Apl.de.ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo and Lea Salonga.
Kapamilya Channel will also air TV Patrol in the early evening, ABS-CBN said.
There will be new public service programs — Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo will host “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan” on Saturdays while Angel Locsin will host “Iba ‘Yan” every Sunday.
Overseas viewers will be able to watch the shows on The Filipino Channel.
“Encouraged by the overwhelming love and support of the public, ABS-CBN remains committed to serving its audiences even after it was ordered to stop operating its radio and television stations on May 5 by the National Telecommunications Commission,” the network said. (PressONE.ph)
