DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The city’s police has filed 966 cases against violators of the city’s quarantine guidelines since the city was placed under the Enhanced Community (ECQ) in early March.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Col. Kirby John Kraft said the city’s police has apprehended 1,045 violators of the curfew hours; 151 for the liquor ban; and 124 for violation of the social distancing and mass gathering since March 15. Out of this, 966 cases have already been filed in court.

The DCPO also arrested those who were engaged in hoarding, overpricing, and profiteering which are all illegal while the country is under a state of health emergency.

Confiscated items consist of overpriced alcohol, face masks, thermal scanners, disinfectants, and liquid soaps from 14 operations.  (Rommel F. Lopez)
