American record label 88rising has partnered with local major telecommunications provider Globe in launching Paradise Rising, a label for artists from the Philippines.

The label will release “semilucent,” a five-track mixtape covering a variety of genres from local artists Kiana Valenciano, Leila Alcasid, Massiah, Jason Dhakal and Fern.

“88rising is all about supporting and embracing the voices of those who are underrepresented,” company founder Sean Miyashiro said, according to a Forbes report.

In the same report, Miyashiro said he wanted to continue using the platform to “further cement the presence of Filipino artists” on a global scale through “strategic development and music management.”

On May 6, Filipino singer Iñigo Pascual and Filipino-British artist Beabadoobee performed on Asia Rising Forever, the company’s online festival that celebrates Asian artists all over the world.

88rising houses big names such as NIKI, Joji, Rich Brian, and Higher Brothers, who hail from different parts of Asia. Isabel Macaraeg
