The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 80 percent of its force have already received both doses of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said that 80.5 percent or 179,164 of the 222,560 police personnel have already received their Covid-19 vaccine doses. Meanwhile, 16.75 percent or 37,280 have already received their first dose.
The national police chief added that 2.75 percent or 6,116 among its force are awaiting their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, among its ranks who are still unvaccinated, 859 or 0.39 percent have “valid reasons” while 2.36 percent or 5,257 have “no valid reasons.”
The PNP also announced that 109 more police officers have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing its total caseload count to 40,345. Among the said number, 1,840 are still active while recoveries stand at 38,386 with 188 more survivors.
