The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) revealed that a total of 52,000 people have been evacuated from their residences due to Typhoon Karding. 

“So far in general, mukhang very minimal. As we speak , meron lang tayong na-evacuate na 52,000 persons,” NDRRMC deputy spokesperson Raffy Alejandro said during a public briefing.

Alejandro said that the NDRRMC knew about the five fatalities caused by the typhoon in Bulacan as well as a missing person in Camarines Norte. 

Moreover, he added that 43 ports had canceled operations stranding 2,882 passengers at seaports in the Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Regions.
