A 5.6-magnitude earthquake rocked parts of Mindanao Tuesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs said the quake, which hit at 8:36 p.m., was tectonic in origin, with the epicenter traced at Makilala, North Cotabato.

Tremors were felt in the cities of Kidapawan, Davao, Koronadal, Cagayan de Oro, and Cotabato.

Authorities have yet to report casualties or damage.

Reported intensities were as follows:

Intensity V – Makilala, North Cotabato; Kidapawan City; Koronadal City; Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur;

Intensity IV – Davao City; Polomolok, Tupi, Tampakan, Sto. Nino, Tacurong City and Quirino, Sultan Kudarat; Glan, Malungon, Sarangani

Intensity III – General Santos City; Kiamba, Sarangani; and

Intensity II – Cotabato City; Nabunturan, Compostela Valley. (PressONE.ph)
