A 4.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Zamboanga del Norte Thursday afternoon, according to the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor struck 62 km northwest of Liloy, Zamboanga Del Norte at 1:17 pm, state seismologists said.

The report showed that the quake was tectonic in origin with a 52 km depth of focus.
