A 4.2-magnitude earthquake shook Itbayat island-town in Batanes at around 12:09 a.m. on Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

According to Phivolcs, the nine-kilometer-deep quake’s epicenter was 77 km southwest of Itbayat town. It was tectonic in origin. 

Basco, the capital town of Batanes, felt the tremor.

Meanwhile, no injuries or damages to property were reported.
