The country has vaccinated 37,964 minors with co-morbidities as of Tuesday, the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) reported.

Pediatric vaccination in the Philippines started on Oct. 15.

In a Laging Handa briefing, NVOC Chairwoman Myrna Cabotaje said the government would push for the vaccination of minors to reach its target of vaccinating up to 1.5 million Filipinos daily,

“We need to work double time…kaya kailangan natin, all hands on deck. Kailangang tulong-tulong tayong lahat para ma-meet iyong [target],” she said.

The country is vaccinating about 500,000 Filipinos daily, Cabotaje said.

“Ibig sabihin, magdo-double efforts tayo kasama na iyong pagbakuna noong mga pediatric age groups. So, sana makaengganyo din ito para iyong ibang hindi pa nababakunahan ay magpabakuna na rin,” she added.

The coverage of pediatric vaccination in the Philippines is expected to expand this month. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
