Three communication industry groups will launch a webinar promoting Covid-19 vaccine acceptance in the Philippines.
The International Association of Business Communicators Philippines, the International Public Relations Association Philippines and the Public Relations Society of the Philippines will host “Vax Populi: Driving COVID-19 Acceptance” on April 20.
According to the organizers, the free webinar aims to aims to teach communicators to “craft vaccine rollout communication plans, provide a platform for public-private collaboration on vaccine awareness and acceptance, and increase vaccine acceptance levels.”
The speakers are McDonald’s Philippines Managing Director Margot Torres, health promotion bureau chief of the Department of Health Dr. Beverly Ho, and Philippine College of Physicians President Dr. Mario Pangilinan.
They will discuss the public sector’s contribution to fighting Covid-19 and how communication can help the Philippines achieve herd immunity. It also aims to simplify vaccine terms and debunk myths surrounding it, respectively.
According to an Octa Research Group survey released on Feb. 24, 46 percent of Filipinos were unwilling to take a Covid-19 jab. A separate survey from Pulse Asia revealed that 61 percent of Filipinos did not want to get vaccinated against the disease.
