The Philippines on Thursday received two million doses of Sinovac’s CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the country’s total vaccine stock to more than 16.2 million.
The recent shipment was composed of 1.6 million doses procured by the national government and 400,000 doses purchased by IP Biotech for the city government of Manila.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr., Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Vice Mayor Honey Lacuña were among the government officials who welcomed the arrival of the vaccines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.
The country now has 11 million doses of the Chinese vaccine.
The Thursday shipment was the 12th batch of Sinovac doses the Philippines has received.
More than eight million doses have been administered nationwide.
