All 28 individuals under investigation (PUIs) in the region have tested negative for the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19), according to the Department of Health-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOH-CAR).

Of the 28 PUIs, 11 came from Baguio City, seven in Abra, five in Benguet, three in Mountain Province, one each in Apayao and in Kalinga, according to Dr. Amelita Pangilinan, DOH-CAR officer-in-charge.

Ages of the PUIs ranged from 10 months old to 57 years old.

“We hope to maintain that status,” Pangilinan stated, referring to the region for being Covid-19 free.

The DOH released a report that there are 80 PUMs in the region. 70 of them have already completed their 14-day self-quarantine.

Health officials said PUIs and persons under monitoring (PUMs) should undergo a 14-day quarantine period.

PUMs are encouraged to complete a 14-day self-quarantine period, enough time for the virus to manifest. (RJ Espartinez)
