The Metro Rail Line 3 (MRT-3)’s operations were halted for over half an hour on Sunday after two people traversing the Pasay flyover fell onto the train’s tracks below.

The MRT-3 management said in a statement the accident happened at around 6:37 p.m. on the rail track area between the Taft and Magallanes stations. The train operations were temporarily halted for the train’s personnel and the PNP’s Scene of the Crime Operations to investigate the incident at the scene.

The MRT management said no breakdowns on the train’s system were reported.  Train operations  resumed at around 7:26 p.m. for southbound trips only.

The police’s initial report stated that the two victims were riding a motorcycle and traversing the Aurora Boulevard Flyover in Pasay City when the driver lost control because of the slippery road and fell on the train tracks below.  The two victims died on the spot.
