A Filipino COVID-19 patient has recovered and was discharged from confinement bringing the total number of recovered patients in the country to three (3), according to the Department of Health.
The recovered patient is Patient 14, a 46-year old male who suffered from cough and fever on February 25, 2020. He was admitted on March 5, 2020 at the Makati Medical Center. The patient was confirmed to have the COVID-19 disease on March 9, 2020.
Patient 14 is now asymptomatic and tested negative twice for COVID-19 before he was sent home.
“While this is a very welcome development, there is no reason for us to be complacent. In order to contain the virus, we may also need to extend community quarantine to other areas of the country. We need the public to cooperate with us now more than ever, and serve as our partners in ensuring that the spread of COVID-19 is put to a halt. Let us all act fast and act now,” Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III said. (RJ Espartinez)
