The Philippines received one million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine on Friday, most of which will be allocated to NCR-Plus areas.
According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, 60 to 70 percent of the batch will be deployed to NCR-Plus areas.
NCR-Plus includes Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna and Rizal.
The rest of the doses will be given to cities tagged as high-risk areas.
The country now has 19.5 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
The recent batch of vaccines brought the country’s total vaccine stock to 33,860,700 doses.
