The Philippines received over 188,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday evening.
The 188,370 doses were donations from the Covax facility.
This latest shipment brought the country’s total Pfizer doses from Covax to 2,660,580.
National Task Force against Covid-19 Asst. Secretary Wilben Mayor said the vaccines would be delivered to provinces that had yet to receive Pfizer doses.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said that the government would start delivering Pfizer doses to areas that had yet to receive them, so as to prepare them for bigger shipments in the future.
The country has received 52,792,130 Covid-19 doses from different manufacturers.
