The University of the Philippines (UP) on Wednesday night announced that some 118 employees, Barangay UP Campus residents and non-campus residents have tested positive for Covid-19.
Citing July 28 data from the UP Health Service public health unit, the UP Diliman Covid-19 task force confirmed that of the 118,, 45 were active cases.
It also announced that 67 have recovered while six have died of the disease.
Eighty-eight were residents of Barangay UP Campus (59 UP Diliman constituents and 29 non-UP Diliman constituents) and 30 were non-campus residents (24 UP Diliman constituents and six non-UP Diliman constituents).
The university strongly urged its employees, students and residents of the UP Campus village to adhere to health protocols.
It also urged workers who feel sick from reporting for work. Should one fall ill within work premises, the employee will immediately be isolated and picked up by the UP Health Service. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
